Brick Revealed

Weekly Photo Challenge: Texture – “This week, share a texture found in an unexpected place. It could be made of natural materials, as in these images, or with man-made objects.”

Walking down West Broad Street in Camila, Georgia, I stopped to photograph Colleen Morrell Park for an assignment. But it was the next property that caught my attention.

A small spot of urban green space is neighbored with a vacant building.

It looked its age, and then I saw it. The white wall with a few spots showing the under-layer of brick leading to a blue wall at the back which framed a wooden table and pallet, both soaked through from earlier rain, and trash, dry — all like a scene of a movie, minus the actors, plus the never-ending possibilities of plot-lines.

I spent the rest of the afternoon in walking around my imagination.
