The Ghost of The Museum of Music

Andrea always wore heels, the echoing click on the hardwood floors tipping Jay to get away before she entered the Spinet collection. He never intended for her to believe the museum was haunted, but that was her conclusion nonetheless. Jay wanted to feel the smooth ivory under his calloused fingers. Andrea didn’t want anyone touching the artifacts she curated. She voiced her concerns over tea. He nodded and remained silent.

Then came the night Jill was coloring in her grandmother’s office. She heard the music, tip-toed down the hall and into the room, and squealed “Papa!” giving away his secret.

    • I imagined Andrea knew he had talent, just not that he was practicing at the museum. But, alas, such is the limits of a 100 word story.
