Reputation Intact

Jason took the blindfold off Sandra. She gasped at the house before her, complete with a red bow on the door.

“You bought us the Murder House?” Sandra playfully punched Jason.
“Happy Anniversary!” Jason kissed Sandra’s cheek.
“I could kill you.”
“Don’t let the house hear you say that.”

Ten years prior, the previous owners were murdered inside. The crime was never solved.

On their third date Sandra had mentioned to Jason she fancied the house and dreamed of being the amateur sleuth who solved the mystery. She came close, but the house is back on the market: reputation intact.

    • I highly doubt you are a bad person. I’m equally unsure I’m a “delightful writer.” I think I’ve practiced enough that occasionally I get it right. I felt good about this one. I’m glad I wasn’t completely off with that feeling. Thank you for sharing your reaction.

There you have it. Your turn.
